A Wedding In the Lake District

Jayne and Chris’s Wedding 2011

Wow. What a gorgeous day we all had.

Weddings are always more special when they involve a close family member or friend and when you can be part of the preparations for the big day.

Seeing Jayne pick out her wedding gown was a truly emotional moment. She looked a perfect vision of beauty in her lace dress and the smile on her face said that she’d found the right one!

Choosing bridesmaids dresses was as equally special and we found the perfect match to the bridal gown, with a vintage lace and netted very pretty dress, which would suit the three girls.

Everything was soon put in place for a magical day. The church looked stunning, decorated with hydrangeas, candles and hearts. Chris looked dashing and quietly calm. We were all eagerly awaiting the beautiful bride.

Jayne looked stunning and the bridesmaids complimented her beautifully. The service was full of warmth and love and the best of heartfelt wishes for the newlyweds.

We were all looking forward to arriving at the gorgeous Low Wood Hotel for a much needed drinks reception in the garden overlooking Lake Windermere. The sun shone on us all, thank goodness.

We were treated to a delicious three course wedding breakfast, followed by homemade chocolate and fudge favours. The making of these favours was to be the inspiration for Candystripe Favours a few months later.

It took us all a while to recover from our indulgent treats but a cruise on the lake steamer was just the ticket. Seeing the fells in all their sunshine glory was amazing. It was a great chance to relax, chat and take in the beauty of the day.

After such a gorgeous day, we were then treated to an evening reception, with lots of dancing, drinking, chatting and fun. It was great to see the whole extended family and friends enjoying themselves and coming together to celebrate Jayne and Chris’ marriage.

We all wish them a long, happy, healthy, prosperous and fulfilling life together.
